Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful answers about choosing, ordering, using, and caring for your VNAV Leather bag.
How do I choose the right VNAV flight bag?
Choose based on what you normally carry and how you fly. The Karoo is a practical choice for private flyers and includes a water bottle and handheld VHF holder. The Stratosphere offers more organization for professional pilots, while the Tropos has a padded pocket for a 13.3-inch laptop. Choose a Max model when you need extra room, including space for a 15.6-inch laptop in the Tropos Max or more space for layovers and paper manuals in the Stratosphere Max.
Can your flight bags carry tablets and laptops?
The Stratosphere and Tropos flight bags can comfortably accommodate two iPads. The Tropos has a padded inner pocket for a 13.3-inch laptop, and the Tropos Max can accommodate a 15.6-inch laptop.
How are VNAV Leather bags made?
VNAV Leather bags are made in Ceres, South Africa, with careful attention to materials, construction, hardware, and finishing. Our flight bags began with a prototype designed with a local leather craftsman and have since grown into a wider collection for pilots and everyday travellers.
How should I care for my leather bag?
Handle the bag with clean hands and wipe surface dirt with a wet wipe or damp cotton cloth without soaking the leather. Every few months, apply a good leather cream or wax containing natural waxes. For storage, clean and condition the bag, keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture, and lightly fill it with bubble wrap or a small cushion to retain its shape.
What should I do if my bag arrives out of shape?
Leather bags can lose some shape while packed for delivery. Unpack the bag and fill it with a cushion, bubble wrap, or towels for about a day so it can settle back into shape.
How do I deal with scratches or stains?
Light scratches can often be made less visible by cleaning the leather and applying leather cream or wax. For ink, dye, or other difficult stains, do not try to remove them yourself, as this can make the damage worse. Contact a professional for help.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock products usually arrive within 3 to 4 business days in most areas and 4 to 5 business days in outlying areas. Made-for-you products usually take 10 to 15 working days. International delivery generally takes 7 to 14 days after dispatch, and shipping costs, duties, and taxes are handled separately.
What is your returns policy?
For incorrect or shipping-damaged items in South Africa, contact us within 7 days and keep the item unused in its original packaging. Unwanted items can also be requested for return within 7 days; the return cost is deducted from the refund. International return costs are covered by the customer, and customised or custom-made items are not refundable. Read the full Returns & Refunds policy.
What does the lifetime guarantee cover?
The lifetime guarantee covers defects in materials or workmanship for the original purchaser, such as stitching coming undone, leather tearing, or detached rivets. It does not cover neglect, misuse, accidents, normal wear and tear, or second-hand purchases. See the full Lifetime Guarantee details for help with a product issue.
